Avandia Rosiglitazone MaleateAvandia (rosiglitazone) is a drug manufacture by GlaxoSmithKline used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The diabetes drug Avandia has been known to increase the risk of heart attack. To date, there have been 100,000 heart attacks recorded as being linked to the use of the diabetes drug Avandia. These occurrences of heart attacks resulting from Avandia use were documented by a scientist at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The manufacturer of Avandia also noted that bone fractures were more likely to occur in female patients.
