Jury Finds Boston Scientific Not Liable for Injuries

By | Defective Medical Device litigation, Transvaginal Mesh, Uncategorized

boston_scientifi_transvaginal_mesh_lawsuitIn the first of over 12,000 transvaginal mesh lawsuits targeting Boston Scientific, the jury found the medical device manufacturer not liable for the charges brought by the plaintiff. The lawsuit was being heard in a state court in Massachusetts, and involved the plaintiff Diane Albright.

Albright filed her vaginal mesh lawsuit claiming that she sustained serious injuries from a poorly designed Boston Scientific transvaginal mesh product. She received an implant of the Boston Scientific Pinnacle mesh, according to Bloomberg.

Even though the Massachusetts jury decided in favor of Boston Scientific in this particular case, such a ruling should not be taken as indicative. Each transvaginal mesh lawsuit has its own unique complexities. And in Albright’s case, one or more complexities may have influenced the jury’s decision. If an individual has sustained injuries from a defective product, it is of the utmost importance to hold the manufacturer of the defective product accountable for endangering lives.
